Summary
Mythology is a comprehensive system that expresses the beliefs of a society through symbolic narratives, offering explanations about the origins of the universe and humanity, and shaping historical events within a legendary and fantastical framework. The representation of the female figure through the serpent symbol serves as an example of symbolism, wherein universal themes such as wisdom, fertility, death, and rebirth are frequently utilized to reflect the creative and destructive powers associated with femininity. The aim of this study is to examine the representation and expression of the female figure through the serpent symbol in the continuum from mythology to art and graphic design. Historically, the serpent has been viewed as a multilayered symbol representing femininity across different cultural contexts. This research investigates the usage of serpent symbolism in conjunction with the female figure throughout history, revealing how this symbolic relationship has manifested in graphic design. In this study, a qualitative research method was employed through document analysis. Existing documents were reviewed as the data collection technique, and the data were evaluated using descriptive analysis. Selected visuals from online sources were determined through random sampling. In the sample selection process, a total of 11 visual designs were randomly chosen from various images of serpents and female symbols found on the internet. The reason for this methodological choice was to ensure diversity across a broad spectrum and to examine different symbolic interpretations without any specific bias. To narrow the scope, a limited number of visuals were analyzed, allowing for an in-depth examination of the selected examples. As a result, it has been observed that the serpent and female symbols have carried both positive and negative connotations throughout history, and these symbols have been reinterpreted in graphic design through various techniques. The association of the serpent with themes of wisdom and rebirth has led to the female figure becoming a powerful and multilayered symbol. In modern graphic design, these symbols continue to be reinterpreted, particularly in interaction with dynamics of gender.

Abstract
Mitoloji, bir toplumun inançlarını, evrenin ve insanın kökenine dair açıklamalarını sembolik anlatılarla ifade eden, tarihi olayların efsanevi ve fantastik bir çerçevede şekillendirildiği bir bütündür. Yılan sembolü üzerinden kadın figürünün temsili, bilgelik, doğurganlık, ölüm ve yeniden doğuş gibi evrensel temaların, kadınla ilişkilendirilen yaratıcı ve yıkıcı güçleri yansıtmak için sıklıkla kullanıldığı bir sembolizm örneğidir. Çalışmanın amacı, mitolojiden sanat ve grafik tasarıma kadar uzanan süreçte yılan sembolü aracılığıyla kadın figürünün temsili ve ifadesini incelemektir. Yılan, tarih boyunca farklı kültürel bağlamlarda kadını temsil eden çok katmanlı bir sembol olarak görülmüştür. Çalışmada, yılan sembolizminin tarih boyunca farklı kültürel bağlamlarda kadın figürüyle kullanımı incelenmiş ve bu sembolik ilişkinin grafik tasarımdaki yansımalarının nasıl şekillendiği ortaya konulmuştur. Bu araştırmada, nitel bir araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak doküman analizi yapılmıştır. Veri toplama tekniği olarak mevcut belgeler incelenmiş ve veriler betimsel analiz yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada internet kaynağından seçilen görseller, rastgele (random) örneklem yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Örneklem seçiminde, internet kaynaklarındaki yılan ve kadın sembollerine dair çeşitli görseller arasından tesadüfi olarak 11 görsel tasarım seçilmiştir. Bu yöntemin tercih edilmesinin nedeni, geniş bir yelpazede çeşitlilik sağlamak ve belirli bir önyargı taşımaksızın farklı sembolik yorumları inceleyebilmektir. Kapsamı daraltmak amacıyla sınırlı sayıda görsel analiz edilmiştir; bu sayede, seçilen örneklerin derinlemesine incelenmesi sağlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, yılan ve kadın sembollerinin tarih boyunca hem olumlu hem de olumsuz anlamlar taşıdığı, bu sembollerin grafik tasarımda farklı tekniklerle yeniden yorumlandığı görülmüştür. Yılanın bilgelik ve yeniden doğuş gibi temalarla ilişkilendirilmesi, kadın figürünün güçlü ve çok katmanlı bir sembol haline gelmesine yol açmıştır. Modern grafik tasarımda da bu semboller, özellikle toplumsal cinsiyet dinamikleriyle etkileşim halinde yeniden yorumlanmaya devam etmektedir.
