Summary
Bu çalışmamızda amaç, Tunceli’deki 8.sınıf öğrencilerinin demokratik ve bilimsel değerlere ne derece sahip olduklarını belirlemektir. Çalışmada genel tarama yöntemi benimsenmiştir. Tarama yöntemi kullanılan çalışmada, demografik bilgi formu, değerlerin tespiti için demokratik ve bilimsel değerler ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Tunceli’de 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılı 8. Sınıf öğrencileri araştırmanın evrenini oluştururken, dört ilköğretim okulunda öğrenim gören 245 öğrenci örneklemi meydana getirmektedir.
Araştırmada istatistiksel hesaplamalar yapabilmek için SPSS paket programından yararlanılmıştır. Uygulanan istatistiksel hesaplamalar sonucunda okul, cinsiyet, anne-baba eğitim dereceleri, ailenin ekonomik durumu gibi değişkenlerin etkisi incelenmiştir. Anlamlı farklılıkları tespit etmek amacıyla cinsiyet değişkeninde t testi kullanılırken, anne-baba eğitim dereceleri, okul ve ailenin ekonomik durumu değişkenleri için tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır. Scheffe testine ise anlamlı fark çıkan grupları belirtmek amacıyla başvurulmuştur.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the degree of democratic and scientific values of 8th grade students in Tunceli. General screening method was adopted in the study. In the study using screening method, demographic information form and democratic and scientific values scale were used to determine the values. In Tunceli, 8th grade students of the 2018-2019 academic year constitute the universe of the research, while 245 students studying in four primary schools make up the sample. In the research, SPSS package program was used to make statistical calculations. As a result of the applied statistical calculations, the effects of variables such as school, gender, education levels of parents and economic status of the family were examined. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used for the variables of parental education, school and family's economic status, while t-test was used in the gender variable to determine significant differences. Scheffe test was used to indicate the groups with significant differences.
