A STUDY OF DEVELOPMENT READER FRIENDLY TEXT ASSESSMENT RUBRIC FOR TEXT CREATING AND EVALUATION
In this study to improve “Friendly Text Assessment Rubric" to be usedin the evaluation oftexts used in the classroom environment was proposed. Based on the literaturea rubricconsisting ofseven dimensions (text editing, use of time, coherence/consistency, giving tips, conceptualdensity, description, and discourse) was designed. Regarding the content, construct and criterion validity of the rubric, expert opinion was obtained.For the reliability of the rubric, Weighted Kappa Coefficient was analyzed. Accordingly, Weighted Kappa Coefficient of the Rubric was found ,756; for text editing ,601; for use of time ,731; for coherence and consistency ,834; for giving tips ,643; for conceptual density ,700; for description ,726 for discourse. Furthermore, the validity of the rubric was obtained in line with the inspection of thecontent, construct andcriterion aspects. These results demonstrates that Friendly Text Assessment Rubric which was developed to be used in the evaluation of textsare reliable and valid. This rubric can be an alternative tool particularly in assessing the texts used in the classroom.
