Abstract
THE IMAGOLOGY AS A WORKING AREA OF COMPARATIVE
As a first step, in this article the term “imagology” is defined and determined the object of research about imagology. Then the comparative literature is characterized and the relationship between imagology and Comparative Literature is investigated by explaining the emergence and development of imagology in dependence on the work and assertions of Carre, Wellek and Dyserinck in detail. Finally the purposes, tasks, importance and the possibility of a imagological (comparative) study which makes a contribution to a better compromise between nations are discussed.
