Summary

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF TEACHERS' USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, TRANSHUMANISM AND CREATIVITY APPLICATIONS IN SCIENCE EDUCATION

Artificial intelligence and creativity applications have an increasing importance in science education. This study aims to examine the strengths and weaknesses of artificial intelligence and creativity applications in science education based on the literature. This review aims to help teachers understand how they can use these technologies and evaluate their effects in science education. AI-based and transhumanism applications can recognise students' individual learning needs and personalise learning materials, thus enhancing students' learning experiences. At the same time, artificial intelligence can quickly process large amounts of data to monitor and analyse student performance. This can improve the learning process by providing faster and more qualified feedback to students. Simulations, visualisations and creative applications can be used interactively to understand science topics more effectively. This can help students understand science concepts better by making abstract concepts concrete. These applications, whose positive aspects cannot be counted, also cause negative situations such as technology addiction. Excessive use of artificial intelligence and creativity applications in science education may increase students' dependence on technology and cause them to ignore traditional learning methods. Problems in technological infrastructure may prevent the effective use of artificial intelligence and creativity applications and cause interruptions in the teaching process. Unless teachers are provided with the necessary training and support to use these technologies effectively, it will not be possible to fully utilise the potential of these applications. Considering the strengths and weaknesses of artificial intelligence and creativity applications in science education, it is seen that these technologies have potential benefits in science teaching as well as some risks that need to be considered. It is important that teachers use these technologies consciously and adopt a balanced approach to meet the needs of students.
