Abstract


THE GLOBALIZATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION: STUDENT MOBILITY AND SATISFACTION AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
Universities operating within the higher education system conduct their publicity and cooperation at an international level through a variety of coordinators. With this coordinators, universities are able to attend student and faculty exchange programs with institutions of higher education on abroad. In these activities in order to create joint projects with other institutions of higher education and for short-term exchange of students and staff; in particular the satisfaction of foreign students is a major concern. The evaluation of the students' opinions and proposals in terms of quality of internationalization activities for the future will enable a different perspective to the universities on the international area. For this purpose, this study has been prepared at a public university in order to determine the satisfaction of foreign students with the university. The opinions and suggestions and the expectations of the students were examined with the content analysis, one of the methods of qualitative analysis, and has been analyzed considering the Owlia and Aspinwall’s (1996) quality components scale for the products and services for higher education. The study sample was constituted by 100 foreign students whose opinions and proposals were taken. The findings on student satisfaction from this research "concrete elements , content and presentation , competence and attitude , reliability " has been added.
