Abstract

A NEW METHOD IN HISTORY RESEARCE: COMPARATIVE HISTORY
Comparative history is comparing two different societies in terms of place and time or comparing those that are close to each other in terms of same features and are affected by each other permanently. Basically, it is neatly examining the similar historical events occurred in different eras and geographies. Comparative history collects a lot of data for a detailed study and comparison, and then it tries to define the important situations that are similar and different. Thanks to comparative history, we identify the historical events, institutions, conditions, stream of thoughts of the era. The effects of historical events and institutions on present day, traditions and practices living or not are compared. We try to fine the realities of present day explaining the past events. People may be mistaken if they reach a verdict without comparing in history. Additionally, we view history from a perspective of what we sanctify and we see it unique because the facility of comparative history studies hasn’t improved sufficiently in our country.
