TEACHERS’ OPINION ON THE SUPPORT AND TRAINING COURSES IN TURKISH MIDDLE SCHOOLS
In the study, the aim is to evaluate Support and Training Course in terms of its application process, benefits, problems and various suggestions. Typical case sampling was used in the study. Semi-structured interview technique was employed for this research. The data was analyzed and interpreted through content analysis method. 14 middle school teachers participated in the study. Findings revealed that application process of the courses was not completely democratic because of various reasons. Teachers’ financial gain and opportunity of compensation were defined as the most significant benefits. High level of absenteeism and need for material were stated as the most important problems. Material supply, periodic evaluations and social activities were among teachers’ primary suggestions and expectations.
