THE VIEW OF PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS OF SOCIAL STUDIES ABOUT TEACHER-CONTENT KNOWLEDGE EXAM IN KPSS
In Turkey, personnel recruitment to public enterprises was occurred with Civil Service Exam for the first time in 1999. After that, the name of this exam changed with Public Personnel Selection Examination and it is standard for appointment of teacher to Ministry of National Education like the other public enterprises. In 2013, this exam is not seen adequate for selection of teacher and another exam, teacher –content knowledge, will be examined for students in department of teacher training programs. By this way, for the appointment of teachers, more comprehensive exam according to the other will be implemented. In this study, views of students in department of social sciences teaching about content knowledge in Personal Selection Examination are examined. For this, firstly field scanning was done and a scale including 39 items was developed based on expert opinion. For validity and reliability of pre-scale, 120 students in Kilis were participated the study. The alpha reliability co-efficient of pre-scale is .76. But by 4 items (1-3-4-16 items) were removed, the reliability of co-efficient is found .80 and scale including 35 items is admitted as final scale. The final scale was implemented to 244 students at the department of teacher training in Inonu University and Adıyaman University. The data was analyzed with t-test and analysis of variance.
